    Default Eye Problem

    Dear Forum

I have no sight in my left eye. My right eye which had perfect vision, has since last October, suffered from Posterior Vitreous Detachment which not only causes floaters but also a permanent veil over my vision. Hence my vision has deteriorated and I am now unable to drive because I cannot read the signs or vehicle number plates. Also my Eye is extremely sensitive to light now, whereas it was not before. The consultants agree that I have PVD but are unable to grasp that my vision has become worse and state that I should still be able to see. Also they do not understand as to why I cannot tolerate normal daylight or vehicle lights.
    Confused!

I believe that your best help would come from a "Low vision" specialist in your city/area or at a major hospital Eye Clinic. They seem to be more informed about unusual eye problems, more empathetic, and more movitated to help find a solution to your problem. They seem more willing to search and research for other doctors who can help you, Good luck!

The best decision is to consult a doctor. No one knows about your problem more than he does.

    Hello Friends,

Here I just want to give a light on the disease. In posterior vitreous, vitreous humour separates from the retina. There are some symptoms of PVD:-

Flashes of light that is called photopsia, Sudden increment in the number of floaters.
