I have had on and off eye twitching for 20+ years. I went to several doctors. They all basically said..."Drink a glass of wine - relax!" Well, when your eye twitches 24-7 even while you are sleeping it is hard to relax. I researched "muscle spasms" on the internet and found that they treat large muscle spasms with potassium. I figured if potassium treatment was good for large muscles - why not small muscles (my eye). I take a multi-vitamin that has potassium. The results were not immediate but eventually my eye twitch stopped (a couple weeks). When I stopped taking the multi-vitamin, my eye twitch returned. I don't know if it was the potassium that helped or what, I really don't care, I'm just relieved that my eye stopped twitching! So...whenever I get lazy and don't take my multi-vitamin for a period of time -my eye twitch returns and reminds me.
Well, in my case, I got this rapid eye-blinking / eyelid-twitching disorder, which was countless times in a split second as a neuromuscular symptom of Tardive Dyskinesia / medication-induced hemifacial spasm. And, before I got fully cured once and for all through acupuncture treatment, I actually had been prescribed and taken lots of vitamin, mineral & anti-muscle spasms pills, and as a disappointment, they didn't work out anything positive for me at all.
Whilst as for the subsequent Botox injections that I received, the curative outcomes were far below my satisfactory expectations. And as to the acupuncture treatment that I have mentioned, it's acutally a very simple technique which doesn't involve any needle-piercing at all which is imparted to me by the licensed acupuncturist attending to my rapid eye-blinking / eyelid-twitching in the first place.
And as such, the acupuncture technique is actually a self-administered, totally harmless, painless and definitely free-of-charge one. For your information, I get such a rapid eye-blinking / eyelid-twitching fully cured once and for ever since 5 years ago and there has been totally no relapse of that disorder at all so far.
For further information, please refer to the follows :
It's actually called Blepharospasm which is a symptom of involuntary and uncontrollable movements in the muscles around a person's eyes which in turn make them appear like 'blinking non-stop' to other people.
In certain cases, this may be caused by myasthenia (muscular weakness) in the eyes organ as a result of stresses, overstraining of the eyes, lacks of sleeps, the serious lacks of certain nutrients / minerals to support the normal functionings / movements of your eyelid muscles etc.
Next, in the case whereby no stress, any kinds of infections, overstraining of the eyes etc are involved whilst the eyelids and the entire organs just look superficially normal and ok, and at the same time, the eyelid-twitching / eye-blinking just get 'unexplainedly' from bad to worse from time to time, such medical scenarios could actually be caused by other neuromuscular disorders which are much more complicated.
And in terms of such neuromuscular disorders, they may arise as a neurological / Tardive Dyskinesia side effect of certain medications, especially the powerful mind-altering tranquilizers of antipsychotics / neuroleptics, particularly when such medications are over-relied on to the point of sheer abuse.

It is not always about stress or eye strain. This is also the first time I read about dry eyes and twitching. I have always had dry eyes and i'm trying new ways to deal with this in the hope that it will solve the discomfort as well as the twitch.
Dry eyes and twitching ?
Well, when you have mentioned that remark, that simply reminds me of the exactly similar diagnosis given to me over and over again by numerous eye doctors and specialists who tell me " your abnormally rapid eyelid-twitching / eye-blinking" is caused by dry eyes / stress factors / bacteria infections etc.
Subsequently, I have just applied various kinds of eye drops for about 6 consecutive months prescribed and given to me by these doctors and specialists, whilst taking those vitamin, minerals and anti-muscle spasm pills at the same time.
Unfortunately, it turns out that those efforts are just a sheer waste of my time and money whereby they simply don't work out anything at all for my Tardive Dyskinesia / medication-induced chronic rapid eyelid-twitching / eye-blinking which is caused by the problematic inner eye nerves that fail to control the muscle movements of my eyes in proper ways.
So, my conclusion is that, there are simply a variety of factors causing the disorder of eye-twitching and it is very much important for the ones having such a disorder to firstly identified their underlying causes correctly and accordingly so as to deal with it in the effective ways towards the full cure of such a disorder.
Besides, I would like to add that in terms of the eye-twitching caused purely by dry eyes, such a symptom, naturally would be a far milder one and definitely would not last permanently when appropriate treatments are administered accordingly.
Whereas, if the particular eye-twitching scenario simply doesn't turn out to be as simply as that (please refer to my prior post above), then further scrutinies and examinations would naturally be necessary to find out the exact causes of such prolonged severe eye-twitching so that the effective solutions can be sought to deal with the related disorder accordingly to get it cured in the end.

I am replying to the eye twitching problem and I wondered if anyone out there has had this happen like me all my life and not even realize when my eyes are closing.
Is there a treatment or drug to help with this? Please reply
Connie
I also have had euye twitching all my life and when this happens during meetings or talking to new people, I don't even realize it is happeneing. It is so embarrassing and I will try anything to get this twitching and eye closing to stop. Thanks for your posting. Connie
Actually I have just recently received some highly acclaimed remarks from the other person in other forum about the substantial, obvious and prompt efficacies of my suggested self-administered, totally free-of-charge, painless, harmless and needle-free acupuncture method / technique which is meant especially for the effective and full treatments of post-birth non-brain / neuron-damage & Tardive Dyskinesia / medication-induced rapid, purposeless, involuntary and uncontrollable eyelid twitching / eye blinking.
As such please refer to the third-party remarks made as follows :
Original post made by this person as mentioned above :
"I think Actually these persons distributed nearly the identical sore know-how as me from such debilitating sickness and for your data, there were numerous of them who were not so well-to-do, and therefore they could not pay for such costly health accounts of glimpsing the health experts or to get Botox injections / surgical remedy to deal with their non-stop eyelid-twitching problems. Therefore, when I suggested such an acupuncture method to them, I did it out of benevolent humanity, understanding and compassion, and express gratitude God that it worked on each and every individual of them."
And well, perhaps my related posts made in this forum and the very last post related to the third-party remarks as mentioned above which is entitled "Thank you very much for being kind and benevolent for the poor and needy ones " from the other forum as included through the weblink below may just turn out to be helpful to you all and the other related people suffering from the similar visually incapacitating diseases and having the same vision problems.
