Question Cataract surgery is this safe!!!

I was diagnosed having cataract last year and my doctor told me to have a cataract surgery. Due to my faith and believe in God that I told him No. My vision is getting blurrier and cloudier and I've changed glasses every year but I canot' wear them. I can see without glasses but I can not see and read with glasses on.

My medical coverage was cancelled effective Sept 1 2009 by Kaiser due to my employers CalCoba exhausted. I have applied for an individual plan but was denied due to catacacts asthma ad other co existing conditions. I am 60 years old, I lost my job due to car accident caused by uninsured driver and eventually lost my home. My Kaiser coverage expires August 31, 2009 and my doctor scheduled me a cataract surgery on August 6, 2009. I am very hesitant to do the surgery because I am afraid that since I don't have coverage effective Sept 1 that I can not afford to pay for the follow up and the 2nd eye scheduled surgery. My right eye has few cataracts only the left one has a lot of it.

My question is, Is it true that the Ophthalmic Nutrional Therapy taking vitamins a, e, c, eating fruits and vegertables, drinking red wine, taking 70 grams of protein a day and the one I found in the internet that can dissolve my cataract called NAC eye drops can cure my cataracts Please advice.

    Thanks

    Smile Cataract Surgery Response.

Sorry to hear about Your problems with Vision and the Pending Surgery.
Have you had this Procedure yet ?
My point of view has always been that the Body has Tremendous Powers
of Self Healing, so trying Nutrional Therapy is the First thing I would do
    Before any Surgical Procedure.
It is my View that if the Body is Healthier than is was Prior to Health Treatment,
That one response to Healing will have a Greater chance of Full or Partial
    Recovery.
For Manny Issues, Juicing Apples ( 2 Red if poss) Fresh Parsley one bunch,
& 5-6 Carrots is just the Bomb.

Have you ever Tried a Lens Coating to see if can Help with the Reading
    Issue ?
It has Helped Me a Lot, & I Read from about 6-7 Inches Farther back Now.
if you can not afford one, We can provide one for you.
    Ricky.

A Cataract is formed when the lens of the eye changes & instead of being clear it becomes opac a bit like the white of an egg!
Just like the white of the egg it can not go back to being clear, this means that when the light shines into the eye it can't get through as it used to so your vision becomes blurred & distorted!

In cataract surgery the cloudy lens in your eye is removed & an artifical lens is put in, in its place restoring your vision. This is a very simplified version but the long & the short of it is nothing is going to restore your vision once you have developed a cataract but the removal of the cataract!

There are 2 main methods of laser eye surgery used today:

    1. LASIK Laser Eye Surgery
    2. PRK Laser Eye Surgery

The major difference between the two surgeries is the way that the stroma, the middle layer of the cornea, is exposed before it is vaporized with the laser. In PRK, the top layer of the cornea, called the epithelium, is scraped away to expose the stromal layer underneath. In LASIK, a flap is cut in the stromal layer and the flap is folded back.

Default Cataract surgery is this safe!

Concerning glasses after surgery, you can usually check for new glasses about three to six weeks after surgery. Most people after surgery who have the standard lens (the one covered by insurance) placed in the eye, still need readers or bifocals. Newer lenses that give a range of vision without glasses are also available but not all surgeons offer these advanced lenses and insurance almost never covers them.

    this will help u...
    thanks..
