help with prescription please

I have just had an eye test. It reads right eye sph +0.50 cyl -0.25 axis 110.
Left eye +0.75 cyl - 0.75 axis 90. add +2.00.
I have once again ordered varifocals but I really do not get on with them and am having a lot of problems. I had a test a year ago at a different high street optician and I have noticed there is some difference. A year ago it was right eye + 0.75 cyl - 0.50 axis 110 and left eye +0.75 cyl -0.75 axis 80 add +1.75.
I have 2 questions. Firstly it seems like my right eye isn't as bad as last time!!!! Why is that? Secondly I always thought that as well as having trouble with close up stuff I had a little trouble with distance which is why I chose to have varifocals in the first place but why is there no reading for this or have I got it all wrong? Do you think the reason I've had trouble with varifocals is because my original prescription was too strong? Sorry that was 3 questions! I am confused and I don't want to keep wasting money on glasses I just don't get on with ( I feel very very sick when moving in them and also have headaches with them). I would appreciate any information on my dilemma and the prescriptions. Thank You.
