Ray-ban Polarized Question

Hi there,

I bought a polarized Ray-ban sunglasses, and it is my first polarized one. I read that it's supposed to reduce glare and reflection on surfaces but mine is not as far as I can tell. It does when I turn the sunglasses 90 degree (hold it vertically) but not when in normal position.
These are two photos, the first is holding it normally and you can see the reflection of the curtains on the window, the second is when I hold it vertically. Is that normal or is it a faulty with my sunglasses?

Do not even know what happened. I have polarized ray-ban sunglasses too. I have no problems with them. Very satisfied
